The Binh Phuoc provincial People’s Committee on July 24 held a ceremony at the province’s military cemetery to rebury the remains of 172 soldiers killed in Cambodia.

These remains were found during the dry season of 2008-2009 by two groups of Vietnamese soldiers with the support of Cambodian people. Only the remains of six fallen soldiers were identified.

Also on July 24, the people of Dong Thap province received the remains of 149 other soldiers repatriated from Cambodia.

The same day, a memorial service was held for 29 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers, of whom 22 had been killed in Loc Ninh District during the resistance war against the US.
