The Red Spring Festival was held in Hanoi on March 6 by the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHDT) and the Hanoi Blood Donation Steering Board.
This is the third time the festival has been held with the aim of encouraging every one to show their humanitarian spirit by donating blood.
This year’s festival was a great opportunity for people to express their compassion and fitting way to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.
Nguyen Anh Tri, director of the NIHBT, said that the festival will last from February 22 to March 13 with a wide range of activities being held across the country, with the March 6 event being the largest.
