Radio dramas top Hanoi workshop agenda
A workshop on radio dramas was held by Radio the Voice of Vietnam’s Culture, Science and Education Channel (VOV2) as part of the 10th National Radio Broadcasting Festival on June 9.
The workshop, which focused on the production of dramas for national and local radio stations across the country, discussed how to put together a professional team of script writers for drama.
In his report, named Radio drama-a theatre of imagination, former head of VOV2, Dinh Luong, gave a presentation on the history and development of radio drama in Vietnam. First broadcasted on VOV in 1955, radio dramas have had a major influence on society.
Playwright Tran Dinh Ngon spoke about script writing for radio. According to him, playwrights must be capable of using an expressive and imaginative style to inspire listeners when they follow a storyline on the radio.
At the end of the workshop, VOV General Director Vu Van Hien asked producers to make their works more interesting, lively and more related to real life.

The workshop also provided an excellent opportunity for different generations of radio drama producers to meet and debate this genre of radio.
Along with the rapid development of news service, dramas also play a crucial role in radio broadcasting, as they attract a large number of listeners.
Over the past two years, the 100-episode drama “Aspiration to live” made by VOV, was warmly welcomed by audiences and received a lot of positive feedback.
