On April 25 Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended the launch ceremony of a technical centre for radio and television broadcasting in the southern city of Can Tho after five years of construction.
Huynh Can Dom, Director of the Can Tho City Radio and Television Broadcasting Station, said that the operation of the centre before the 35th anniversary of the Southern Liberation (April 30) has a special meaning as the city’s station was the first place to be taken over by the Southern Liberation Army.
The centre’s 9-storey building, which is 50.3m high and covers an area of 5,000 square metres, was built at a total investment capital of VND64 billion with the aim of improving the quality of programming to better serve people in the city and through the Mekong Delta.
