More than10,000 tombs in the Truong Son national cemetery for fallen soldiers was lit by candles as part of the requiem on April 24.

The event was held by the Quang Tri provincial Women’s Union to mark the 35th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day (April 30).

Local leaders, together with 500 women, representing the Union attended the incense offering ceremony and a cultural programme in honouring the fallen soldiers.

After that, monks from the provincial Buddhist Sangha organised ritual services for the dead.

On April 25, local Women’s Union representatives visited the Road No.9 national cemetery and laid wreaths at the Quang Tri ancient citadel and granted 300 presents to local Vietnamese heroic mothers and families of social beneficiaries.
