Quang Ninh to host Vietnam International Digital Week 2026
VOV.VN - Northern Quang Ninh province will host Vietnam International Digital Week 2026 (VIDW 2026) from October 28 to 30, providing a platform for policymakers, technology experts, businesses and research institutions to explore cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The event, to be organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology under the theme Smart Connectivity: AI Governance and Digital Transformation, will feature three main components, namely a high-level forum on strategic technologies; international cooperation forums, conferences and workshops; and exhibitions showcasing notable technology products.
The opening day on October 28 will centre on a high-level session and a ministerial roundtable addressing the development and mastery of strategic digital technologies, data and digital infrastructure, technology research and commercialisation, and safe and responsible AI governance.
International cooperation will also feature prominently, with ASEAN–EU and Vietnam–Australia digital cooperation forums, alongside an interregional dialogue on AI capacity building scheduled for the same day.
The programme on October 29 will focus on specialised technology cooperation through the ASEAN 5G Conference and the Vietnam–EU Science and Technology Cooperation Forum. Workshops will examine trusted digital infrastructure, Vietnam–China cooperation in AI research and applications, and Vietnam–Japan AI cooperation.
A Vietnam–Republic of Korea Digital Cooperation Forum is also scheduled to take place in Hanoi, focusing on strategic digital technologies, human resource development and technology transfer.
Together, these activities are intended to broaden international engagement across key technology fields and provide opportunities for partners to identify areas for practical cooperation. Bilateral meetings between Ministry of Science and Technology leaders and international partners are also planned to advance specific cooperation initiatives.
Alongside the policy discussions and international forums, an exhibition area will showcase solutions in artificial intelligence, 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and other strategic digital technologies. The exhibition will provide opportunities for businesses and research institutions to connect with international partners and explore potential areas for collaboration.
A cultural tour of Quang Ninh is scheduled for October 30.
