Quang Ninh removes 250-kg unexploded US bomb

VOV.VN - Sappers from the Military High Command of Quang Ninh province have safely removed an unexploded 250-kg bomb which was dropped by the US troops during the war in Vietnam.

The bomb is more than 0.3m in diameter and 1.5m long. It was discovered in a vacant area which was overgrown with reeds in Hong Ha ward of Ha Long City by local residents.

After being informed of the bomb’s discovery, local authorities sent personnel to guard the scene while the military engineering forces transported it a safe distance from residential areas for a controlled detonation to ensure the safety of local people.
