Quang Ngai fishermen enjoy bumper catch ahead of Tet

Each day, tens of high-power fishing ships made landfall on Sa Ky seaport in Binh Chau commune of Binh Son district, bringing various kinds of fish with high economic value. 

Chu Dinh Thuan, a local fisherman, said he and his co-workers caught over 7 tonnes of fish during the month-long trip concluding on January 17, earning each of them VND15 million (US$660). 

Not only offshore ships, inshore fishing boats also had a bumper catch in the last days of the lunar year. 

At the My A seaport in Pho Quang commune of Duc Pho district, under-90CV fishing ships also harvested a great volume of fish after an offshore night. 

The boat of fisherman Tran Tinh was always full of cuttlefish and fish in recent days. He said after each fishing trip, he can rake in over VND10 million (US$440).
