A groundbreaking ceremony for Quang Nam central general hospital was held in the commune of Tam Hiep, Nui Thanh district on January 20.

The hospital will be built on a 20-hectare area with a total investment capital of US$45 million, US$35 million of which has been funded by the Republic of Korea (RoK) government.

Addressing the ceremony, the RoK ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae said RoK and Vietnam are not only good partners in terms of politics and diplomacy but also good friends who helped each other through the recent economic crisis.

Once opened, the hospital will help to ensure the local people’s welfare as well as attracting investment to the Quang Nam province.

The 500-bed hospital is scheduled for completion in 2012.
