The Vietnamese Embassy in London in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a Vietnam tourism promotion programme in London on September 3 to introduce international friends to Vietnam’s land and people.

At the launch ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, Tran Quang Hoan, reviewed Vietnam’s development from 1945 until now, highlighting the achievements Vietnam has made in politics, diplomacy and economy thanks to its renewal policy.

Mr Hoan said the programme will help people around the world learn more about Vietnam. Images of Ha Long Bay, Vietnamese girls in Ao Dai (traditional long white dress) and historical sites in Ho Chi Minh City, will be displayed on taxies for six months. A similar advertisement programme method is being used effectively in many countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Participants in the programme include UK companies like Taxi Media, N-Compass, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), Wanderlust and Travel Weekly magazines, travel agents and several social and press agencies.
