Hanoi, for the first time, on July 22 awarded 24 prizes to organisations and individuals who have applied information technology (IT) products successfully to administrative reforms in the city.

The Hanoi Information and Communications Department initiated the awards last year to encourage enterprises and offices to apply IT to State administration.

The judging is based on how IT is applied on office websites, on-line administrative procedures and the ability to provide “one-stop-shops”.

The prizes are to honour the organisers and individuals who have contributed to the development of IT services and encouraged its use, said the department director Pham Quoc Ban.

The four top prizes were awarded to Hanoi’s Customs Department, the People’s Committees of Tay Ho and Dong Anh districts and the Thuan An IT and Technology Company.

Four-second prizes, three third prizes and 13 consolation prizes were also presented.

The IT awards will continue to be held annually.
