The Vietnam Data Communication Company (VDC) under the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications group (VNPT) will present 1,260 computers to 126 schools in 63 provinces.

These computers will be connected to the high speed Internet. In addition, VDC will work with the Ministry of Education and Training to help teachers use the Internet and manage the computers at schools.

The programme aims to help pupils in disadvantaged areas to gain access to computers and the Internet to find up-to-date information for their studies.

This programme will help to reduce differences in the quality of learning and training among provinces, said deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy. Currently more than 9,000 schools have Internet access.
