Poor children in Lai Chau start school year in destitution
VOV.VN - Today, when all the students in big cities are enjoying their first day of the 2018-2019 academic year in well-equipped schools, poor children in Lai Chau have to sit next to the Nam Nga stream as they attend the opening ceremony for the school year.

| Due to a lack of facilities, teachers and students of Nam Nga primary and junior secondary schools have to celebrate their new school year beside the stream. |

| Currently, there are 558 students studying at the two schools. |

| However, there are only 300 students who can attend the opening ceremony for the new school year in the morning. The remaining students cannot attend due to landslides in the locality. |

| To reach the school, they have to pass hundreds of landslides and rain swollen streams. |

| The children have to study in makeshift classrooms. |

| Despite numerous difficulties, teachers and students in disadvantaged communes of Lai Chau still enjoy the first day of a new school year filled with excitement. |
