Polish embassy mourns plane crash victims

The register of mourning was opened on April 12 at the Polish Embassy in Hanoi in tribute to the plane crash victims among whom were the President of Poland Lech Kaczynski, his wife, and leading members of the government.

A mass to pray for the victims’ will be held at St Josef Cathedral on Nha Tho street at 18:30 on April 15.

The Polish Embassy in Vietnam is grateful to Vietnamese state and government leaders, organisations and individuals for their condolences after the tragic deaths of President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and several senior Polish officials.

The announcement, made on April 12, stressed that the accident was one of the most terrible disasters in the country’s recent history.

The Polish President died while flying to Smolensk in Russian from Warsaw to mark the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre on April 10.
