Poland provides humanitarian aid for disaster-hit residents in Dak Lak province

A shipment of humanitarian aid from the Polish Government was handed over to the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment at Noi Bai International Airport on December 28 to support disaster recovery efforts in Dak Lak province.

The handover ceremony was attended by Nguyen Truong Son, deputy director of the department; Adamczyk Mirosław, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Polish Embassy; and Rafael Jose De Bustamante Tello, Minister Counsellor of the EU Delegation to Vietnam.

The seven-tonne aid consignment includes blankets, tents, buckets, basins, tubular elastic bandages and other essential items, helping meet basic daily needs of people affected by natural disasters in Dak Lak.

According to the ministry’s statistics, as of December 24, 2025, natural disasters this year left more than 400 people dead or missing and over 700 injured, with total economic losses estimated at over VND98.67 trillion (US$3.75 billion).

In response to particularly severe disasters, ministries, agencies and international partners have acted with urgency and determination to mitigate and overcome the consequences. The Government has issued resolutions outlining key tasks and solutions to swiftly address post-disaster impacts, stabilise people’s livelihoods, restore production and support recovery efforts in affected localities, including those in the central region.
