Phu Yen hands over Filipino fishermen

The central province of Phu Yen’s Border Guard Command on January 17 handed over two Filipino fishermen who were rescued in Vietnam’s sea to officials of the Philippines Embassy in Vietnam.

The fishermen were Villardo C. Ruzjr and Severino Noveras Camposano, both born in 1981 from Salcedo Bansud Or Mindoro.

They were provided with health care and accommodation during their stay in the province and helped with administrative procedures to return home.

Previously on January 9, the provincial Border Guard Command received the two Philippine nationals rescued by vessel PY-95021TS captained by Nguyen Thai Hung from Phu Dong, Tuy Hoa city.

They were spotted and rescued after being adrift near Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago on December 24.
