Photo exhibition marks 58th anniversary of relations with Algeria

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria came together with the National Archives Centre of the North African country on October 28 to hold an exhibition featuring 50 photos to mark various milestones in bilateral relations as part of celebrations for the 58th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Some of the images on display include photos of a diplomatic note sent by the nation dated September 26, 1958, which recognizes Algeria’s provisional government, pictures of visits by high-level leaders from both countries, as well as a look at the development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts in the North African nation.

During the course of the event a number of traditional Vietnamese dishes were served to guests.

Upon addressing the exhibition, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh highlighted bilateral relations over the past 58 years, adding his confidence that through a strong political foundation and determination by both countries' leaders, all-round cooperation will continue to flourish moving forward.

Boumediene Guennad, Director General for the Asia and Oceania Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, spoke highly of Vietnamese socio-economic achievements 30 years on since the implementation of Doi moi, also known as Renewal. Guennad added that bilateral ties will be further consolidated and expanded across a variety of sectors, given that Algeria is in the process of offering important reform policies.

To mark the occasion, the Trade Office of Vietnam in Algeria united with the Embassy to introduce a range of Vietnamese goods to Algerian firms, including farm produce, foodstuff, fisheries, garment-textiles, and footwear, among others.
