Hundreds of young Vietnamese people in Russia have been admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the campaign of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example has achieved many other positive results in this European country, according to Dang Huu Trung, Secretary of the Party Committee in Russia.

Speaking at a meeting in Moscow on January 31 to mark the 80th anniversary of the CPV, Mr Trung reviewed the CPV’s 80-year path, highlighting such landmarks as the August Revolution of 1945 and the successful defence and construction of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, later renamed the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Mr Trung stressed that the CPV founded by President Ho Chi Minh has always been the vanguard of the Vietnamese working class and the nation, and has always been at the forefront of the national struggle for independence and freedom.

Mr Trung noted that the Party branch in Russia has made a great effort to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
