OVs in Czech Republic hailed for community development

Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam has praised organisations and associations of Vietnamese expats in the Czech Republic for their role in and contributions to developing the Vietnamese community and promoting Vietnam’s culture in the host country.

Over the recent years, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has been one of the most active with a sense of solidarity, cordiality and mutual support, he said, stressing that it has made positive contributions to the host country as well as Vietnam.
Nam affirmed the Party and State are always attentive to the Vietnamese community abroad in general and that in the Czech Republic in particular, emphasizing that they are an integral part of the nation.
The official took note of recommendations by the Vietnamese community regarding the construction of pagodas, development of Vietnamese language centres, and promotion of youth movement in Czech and those related to policies to attract talents.
The SCOV always assists overseas Vietnamese in stabilising their lives, preserving the nation’s cultural identities, he reaffirmed, calling on the community to continue upholding the solidarity to make it stronger.
Nam also asked the community to strictly abide by the law of the host country, and integrate deeply into the local society, as well as turn their hearts towards the homeland.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minster Nam presented the SCOV’s certificate of merit to six organisations for their active contributions to building and developing the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
