The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Ireland has raised EUR2,000 (VND54 million) to help victims of storm Ketsana in Vietnam’s central region overcome the aftermath and return to a normal life.

The association president, Tham Thien Phuc, handed over the money to a representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK at a ceremony in Dublin, Ireland, on October 24.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Manh Dung received EUR3,950 and US$100 in donations from the Vietnamese community in Belgium to help typhoon victims in Vietnam.

Storm Ketsana, the ninth of its kind hit Vietnam this year, left 93 dead, 23 missing and more than 200 injured.
