Vietnam has implemented over 925,000 clean water projects nationwide since the "National week for clean water and environmental hygiene" was launched in late April.

Since then, as much as 11 million cu. m. of waste has been treated and 19,000 breeding sites have been provided with water supply systems.

Pham The Bao, head of the National Steering Board for Clean Water Supply and Environmental Hygiene, said the board will apply suitable management mechanisms for clean water projects in each region, especially those regularly hit by floods and droughts.

The board will also encourage the use of environmental friendly technology for safe water and the protection of the local bio-diversity.
