VOV.VN - More than 7,500 university students from across Vietnam are competing in the final round of the 27th Eureka Award competition in Ho Chi Minh City on December 5.
The competition, held at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, features 2,179 research projects from 161 universities, colleges and academies nationwide. After preliminary rounds, 192 projects from 84 institutions advanced to the finals, according to the city’s Youth Union and Ho Chi Minh City National University, the event’s co-organisers.
The annual award recognises scientific projects with practical applications in areas such as agriculture, technology, economics, environment and public health. More than 600 professors, researchers and experts from universities, institutes and enterprises are assessing the finalists’ work this year, organisers said.
The Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry is proud to play host to the final round of the Euréka Award this year, thereby continuing to affirm its role as a centre of knowledge and innovation, helping to nurture young talents in scientific research activities, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tai Huan, vice rector of the city, in his opening remarks.
The final round will feature diverse activities to hold exchanges among contestants. Scientific research projects which offer solutions for real-world problems will be financed for further development.
The annual Euréka Award competition is for all Vietnamese students who have a passion for scientific research. It aims to encourage students to propose their own ideas, new inventions, and specific solutions for the country’s socio-economic development.
