The Vallet Scholarship Fund was first established in 2001 by Professor Odon Vallet from France's Sorbonne University through the Meeting Vietnam organisation. Professor Odon Vallet was well-known for his philanthropy work and spent his savings helping impoverished Vietnamese students and encouraging them to study.
At present, the fund has presented scholarships to more than 30,000 researchers and students nationwide who have achieved excellent academic results.
