More than 5,000 people in HCM City’s district 1 participated in a charity walk on September 20 to raise funds for poor children.

The event is part of a programme co-organised by the HCM City’s Youth Union Central Committee, Red Cross Society and Techcombank.

Around 700 children involved in the event will receive special gifts on the occasion of the Mid-autumn festival.

The same day, around 5,000 people and civil servants in Hanoi also participated in the walk to support poor and disadvantaged street children in the provinces and cities nationwide.

To date, the Fund for Poor and Disadvantaged Street Children has received VND600 million from individuals and organisations.
