The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union and Vietnam Television held an exchange to mark International Women’s Day (March 8) and presented the “Golden Rose” Awards to outstanding businesswomen of 2006.
Addressing the award ceremony in Hanoi on March 8, Vice State President Truong My Hoa highly valued the role of women in the renewal process. She said more and more women are engaging in business, contributing to the national economic development. The “Golden Rose” Award aims to recognize women’s contributions and encourages women to make greater efforts.
According to the organizing board, the criteria to select outstanding businesswomen were more demanding than the previous year. Outstanding businesswomen had to excel at both State and family affairs.
The organizing board presented “Golden Rose” Award to 36 female leaders of outstanding businesses and certificates of merit to 70 outstanding businesswomen.
