The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia has confirmed that only two Vietnamese women died in a fire that broke out at a garment workshop in Noginsk City on April 12.

None were injured during the incident, embassy officials said after examining the fire scene. Earlier, the media put the death toll at 4, and about 20 others were injured.

The Vietnamese Embassy met with representatives from the local police and fire services and discussed measures to deal with the situation in line with both countries’ laws.

On April 15, the embassy continued to liaise with the Russian authorities and several Vietnamese individuals in the area to accurately identify the victims and address related problems.
