The online job market continued to recover with a 5.2 percent increase in labour demand indexes in the fourth quarter of 2009, according to Vietnam’s largest online job services website VietnamWorks.com.

Retail sales, accounting and finance, administrative and secretarial, information technology-software and marketing had the highest demand for employees, said the website report.

The labour demand index showed an upward trend at the end of the year as a result of the positive impact of the national economic recovery, said Navigos Group, the leading recruitment solutions provider in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, job seekers had more opportunities to find one as the online supply index fell by 21.2 percent in the fourth quarter.

VietnamWorks.com’s quarterly report was based on the results of a survey of 59 industries and reflected changes and requirements on the labour market, said its General Director Chris Harvey.
