One more COVID-19 infection from Russia brings national tally to 382

VOV.VN - One fresh case of COVID-19 was confirmed among Russian experts on flight IO4405 which landed on July 11 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the national overall number of coronavirus cases to 382.

The latest patient (patient 382) who is 64-year-old Russian citizen, was isolated in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province immediately after entry for health monitoring.

His first sample was tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on July 12.  On July 15, the patient was then transferred to Le Loi Hospital in Vung Tau city for isolation and treatment after displaying symptoms of a fever, and a sore throat. His recent test results came back positive for novel coronavirus.

The nation has so far recorded no cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) being transmitted locally, marking 92 consecutive days without recording any new COVID-19 infections in the community.

Indeed, 241 of the 382 confirmed patients are cases imported into the nation from abroad, with each of the individuals being immediately quarantined upon arrival.

Meanwhile, there are still 25 case that are receiving treatment for the virus, all of whom are in a stable condition. Furthermore, five of the cases have tested negative once for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, whilst four others have tested negative at least twice.

The same day, a 38-year-old male patient known as patient 338 was released from Vung Tau General Hospital after giving the all-clear from the disease.

According to the steering committee’s Treatment Sub-Committee, a total of 357 successfully cured patients, 93.5% of the overall figure, have made a full recovery from the virus with no fatalities being recorded so far.

A total of 10,133 people who came into close contact with the confirmed cases or who have come from pandemic-hit areas currently remain in quarantine to undergo health observation, including 78 people at hospitals, whilst the remainder are at other quarantine sites, at home, or in accommodation facilities.
