One killed, six injured after train hits car in Vietnam
One person was killed and six others injured after a train slammed into a car in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa in the evening of August 13.
The accident happened in Cam Lam District at around 4:00 pm, when the car got hit by a freight train upon crossing the railway, which killed Nguyen Thi Phuong, 69, police said.
Dao Thi Be, 72, Phuong Dung, 50, and Tran Thi Thu, 64, were severely injured, and thus admitted to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency care, police added.

The victims suffered severe injuries to facial areas and limbs, doctors said, adding that their blood pressure is currently stable.
Police officers told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reporters that the rest were transferred to Can Lam General Hospital for medical treatment.
Initial reports indicated that the driver was distracted from driving, thus not noticing the locomotive’s honking horn, leading to the accident.
According to their family, the seven from the neighboring province of Ninh Thuan rented a car to go to Khanh Hoa to attend a wedding of their relatives and fell victim to the tragic accident.
The crash paralyzed the north-south railway until 6:00 pm, police said, adding that the car was handed over to Cam Lam police for further investigation.
