During his stay in China from November 1-8, Secretary Loi met with Wang Gang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
At the meeting, the two sides spoke highly of the development of relations between the two Parties, the two governments and their people in the fields of politics, economics, culture, education, technology and science-especially the consensus on the spirit and direction of future relations reached by high-ranking officials from both sides during the visit to China in May, 2008 by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, to build their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and bring bilateral relations to a new height.
The two sides pledged to actively prepare and successfully organise “Vietnam-China Friendship Year 2010”.
Secretary Loi and his entourage also met with other high-ranking Chinese officials to learn about guidelines, policies and measures taken by China’s Party and State and its experiences in alleviating hunger, reducing poverty and other issues.
