A cold front is moving towards Vietnam from China and it is expected to affect the northern region on December 27, according to the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Centre.

People living in border provinces will feel the deep chill as soon as the front approaches the border early in the morning, the centre says.

Temperatures will fall by 5-6oC to 17-19oC during daytime and 12-15oC at night.

The cold snap will bring rain to the northern region and then the north-central region and cause rough seas.
