The northern province of Vinh Phuc has received almost US$1.39 million in aid from 21 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and international cooperation agencies to implement charity projects in 2008-2009.

These organisations, including MCC, GEDA and Hands of Hope from the US, KFHI from the Republic of Korea and the Chinese organisation AAF, have targeted their assistance towards agriculture, health care, education, environmental protection, the poor and disadvantaged and people living in mountain areas.

Their projects have already paid off, helping Vinh Phuc fulfil its socio-economic development targets.

The province has recently set up a committee and begun a programme to attract more aid from NGOs to put new projects into operation.
