The Mekong delta province of Dong Thap on October 7 put into operation a surface water treatment plant at a total cost of over VND19 billion (over US$1 million ) funded by the Water Fund Holland.
The Dong Binh Surface Water Treatment plant is built on an area of 2.4ha with a design capacity of 5,000m3 a day.
The plant is equipped with Perfector-R technology to supply clean water to over 30,000 local residents in Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province.
Perfector-R is based on a modular design, consisting of intake valves on floating pontoons, a process unit, a facility building, reservoirs, and a distribution pumping station.
The Water Fund Holland is expected to provide financial support to raise the plant’s capacity to 10,000m3 a day next year.
