The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will no longer limit the number of people registering for Korean language tests to seek work under contract in the Republic of Korea.

Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, head of the Department for Managing Vietnamese Guest Workers under the ministry, says this will be implemented this year in order to curb the possible exploitation of Vietnamese workers seeking jobs abroad.

Accordingly, all workers can sign up for Korean-language tests if they want.

It’s estimated that some 50,000 people or more in cities and provinces nationwide want to enrol for these tests. However, the Republic of Korea will receive only about 10,000 guest workers each year.
