Nearly 1,700 Vietnamese citizens brought safely home from Ukraine

VOV.VN - Approximately 1,700 Vietnamese nationals in Ukraine have been brought home safe and sound on six flights put on by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in co-ordination with relevant ministries, sectors, and representative agencies.

Following the latest flights, the evacuation of about 5,200 Vietnamese people from conflict-hit areas in Ukraine has been basically finalized, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Currently, only a few Vietnamese people remain in Ukraine for personal reasons, the ministry said.

Vietnamese representative agencies have closely followed the situation in the Eastern European country from the outset of the conflict. As a result they have actively co-ordinated with local authorities, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and foreign representative agencies to help Vietnamese citizens evacuate from war zones and return home safely.
