National University urged to produce more outstanding achievements
President Truong Tan Sang urged the Hanoi-based Vietnam National University (VNU) to continue revamping its teaching and learning methods, and employing advanced international education models in order to produce outstanding achievements.
To meet the goal, it requires the resolve of the entire political system, policy makers and the contingent of intellectuals, he stressed.
As a graduate and post-graduate training facility, and a research centre in various sectors, VNU plays an important role in national higher education.
Staffed by nearly 1,900 lecturers, the university organises an average of over 360 training courses every year, attracting some 36,000 students.
With its marked performance, VNU has been placed by the QS World University Ranking in the top 191-200 universities in Asia and the leading university in Vietnam.
