NA Vice Chairwoman visits VOV
(VOV) - National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has affirmed the national radio broadcaster’s crucial role in linking the Party, State, and people during a Lunar New Year visit on February 8.
Her New Year’s greetings encouraged Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) to report information as accurately and rapidly as possible, ensuring the public remains up to date on important national and international affairs.
Ngan recalled the 2009 cooperative agreement between the NA Office and VOV, and especially the NA Standing Committee’s decision to assign VOV to develop an NA TV Channel.

She said VOV has earned its place among the media vanguard through firm political stances and by embracing technological advances.
VOV responded to the complex context surrounding Vietnam’s seas and islands with a new radio station on the Truong Sa archipelago. It also implemented a project in Quang Ninh province’s Van Don to meet local demands for reliable sources of information.
Vice Chairwoman Ngan wished VOV every success in the Year of the Horse, spurring it on to strive to be recognised as a unit of heroes.
VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien said the past decade has been filled with outstanding VOV achievements. VOV is the only media agency with radio, television, print, and online newspaper arms.
He previewed VOV’s planned 2014 launch of the official NA TV channel as well as the broadcaster’s ambitions to upgrade its technologies and properly capitalise on the diverse talents of its human resources.
