Mu Cang Chai desolate after flashflood

VOV.VN - A part of Mu Cang Chai Town in northern Yen Bai Province was completely destroyed after the flashflood. Many buildings and public infrastructure were seriously damaged.
 

At least 15 people found dead and missing when a flashflood hit Mu Cang Chai Town on early morning of August 3.

Thirty-two houses were swept away with estimated losses of VND150 billion. 

In the morning of August 4, flood water still pours into the town.

A local resident, Ms Ly A Sung said their property was completed destroyed, but luckily all her five family members escaped death.

Parts of Kim Noi and Che Tao villages were submerged in mud.


Excavators were mobilized to clear the areas from mud.

Tables, chairs and books and notebooks of pupils at Vo Thi Sau Primary and Junior Secondary School and Mu Cang Chai Primary School were swept away or submerged in mud.




Rescue forces are searching for missing people.

Mu Cang Chai Stadium was deep in mud.

Dozens of houses were completely ruined.


At 10.30pm on August 3, rescue forces found one missing person, Sung A Tong who is in stable condition now.
