On July 4, nearly 515,000 students across the country will begin the first phase of the tertiary entrance exams in 2007.

According to statistics, the total number of students taking the tertiary entrance exams this year reaches more than 1.85 million, including 515,000 students in Group A and V, 655,000 students in Group B, C and D, and more than 527,000 students will take college entrance exams.

Due to the low pass rate in the secondary final exams, the number of real examinees will be lower than the number of registered candidates.

The education and training sector has coordinated with the public security and post and telecommunications sectors to adopt strict measures to deal with any violations of exam regulations.
