Speaking at a meeting held in Hanoi on March 10, the Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association of Child Rights Protection, Tran Thi Thanh Thanh, emphasised the need to conduct further study into the living conditions of Vietnamese Children and their rights. “It is essential to encourage children to contribute their ideas to social activities”, she added.
Ms Thanh stressed that due attention should be paid to resolving shortcomings and newly-emerged issues relating to poor children and those with disabilities.
In 2009, the Vietnamese Association for Child Rights Protection moblised VND2.5 billion to support disadvantaged children and launched many charitable programmes to provide better protection and care for Vietnamese children.
