The Ben Tre provincial centre for disease prevention and control has diagnosed a case of acute diarrhea as vibrio cholera, which raises the total number of cases in the province to 50.
The number of reported cases has been dropping for the last three weeks due to the effective preventative measures introduced by the province including banning the production of ice and restricting households with infected people from selling food and drink.
Acute diarrhea patients are treated in the same way as vibrio cholera patients without having to wait for the diagnostic results.
