In the 2011-2015 period, under the plan, the MoIT will call for international cooperation in three fields: researching and applying gene technology to create new species of high-quality and stable microorganisms to meet the demand of the processing industry; producing micro-organic products, enzymes and protein for the sector’s development; and transferring technology to produce biotechnological products.
According to the MoIT, the research of the fermentation technology and the manufacture of fermentation equipment will help produce high-quality food, pet food, additives, chemical substances, pharmaceuticals, biological fuel and consumer products.
Apart from planning and implementing projects to upgrade laboratory facilities relevant ministries, agencies and localities should focus on training human resources and building capacity for managerial officials in biotechnology application.
