Hoang Thi Minh Hong, Vietnam’s first woman to set foot on the South Pole, will make a 2nd visit to this region.

She has been invited to take part in an expedition named “The International Treaty on the Antarctic” scheduled for this November.

The expedition, sponsored by the 2041 Organisation, will mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the International Treaty on the Antarctic.

In 1997, Minh Hong was chosen as Vietnam’s only representative on an expedition to the South Pole-the first for the world’s young explorers.

Minh Hong accompanied 34 other young people from 24 countries becoming the first Vietnamese person to raise the national flag in Antarctica.
