Military Engineering Unit Rotation 2 return home from Abyei

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Military Engineering Unit Rotation 2 have successfully accomplished their peacekeeping tasks at the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) and are now preparing to return home.

At the farewell ceremony held at UNISFA Headquarters on September 25, Brigadier General Ameer Muhammad Umrani highlighted the achievements that the Engineering Unit Rotation No.2 have achieved during the past term.

He emphasised that the Vietnamese engineers have overcome a number of difficulties such as weather conditions, language barrier, and cultural differences to accomplish their tasks.

General Umrani stressed that all of the tasks assigned to the Military Engineering Unit Rotation 2 have all been carried out in the most effective manner.

“You won the absolute trust and completed the tasks excellently,” he concluded.

On September 24, the Ministry of National Defense also held a see-off ceremony to deploy the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 and Engineering Company Rotation 3 of Vietnam to the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the UNISFA, respectively.

The Engineering Company Unit Rotation 3 feature a total of 184 members, including 18 females.
