Microsoft to help train computer workers in HCM City

VOV.VN - Microsoft announced today (June 16) that it would introduce several innovative programs to recruit and train computer and software professionals for the Ho Chi Minh City workforce, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Thousands of Vietnamese jobs in the City go unfilled due to lack of trained applicants Stefan Sjostrom, vice president for Public Sector, Asia at Microsoft told an audience at a business conference.

Microsoft is the world's largest software company, he noted, saying the company is committed to spending several million dollars to provide training to colleges and technical institutes as well as providing half-priced training to working professionals and discounted recruiting fees for Microsoft dealers to find new employees.

The programs, he added, are intended to address official government projections that the majority of the new jobs created in the City over the next decade will involve new and expanding technologies.
