Malaysia arrests 6 suspected illegals

VOV.VN - Malaysia's Immigration Department has arrested six people as part of a major swoop across the country to flush out illegal immigrants, reports the Johor Immigration Department.

A Department official said the recent arrests on September 3 in Stulang Laut include five Indonesians and an unidentified Vietnamese woman, warning that more well-planned raids and arrests are coming.

The operation isn't seasonal, said the official, noting that the operation is ongoing and the target is to achieve zero unlawful immigrants working in the country.

The arrests are part of the government's attempts to get an accurate list of the number of foreign workers in the country and weed out illegal workers, while working with diplomatic missions of all countries to stem the flow of unauthorized immigrants.
