The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai will spend more than VND8 billion aiding the local armed forces, families of policy beneficiary, ethnic minority people and poor people to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

Accordingly, each household will receive VND100,000. The province will also siphon off VND500 million from its budget to add to the reserve funds for food aid in each district.

It will send 16 delegations to visit and present gifts to border communes, border posts and outstanding families of policy beneficiary. Each household will be provided with 10kg of rice


The Red Cross in Mekong Delta Tra Vinh province has launch a campaign to raise around VND900 million for the poor and Agent Orange victims to enjoy the Tet holiday.


The Red Cross in coordination with other organizations has provided free healthcare check-ups for more than 950 people in the five communes of Cang Long, Cau Ke, Duyen Hai, Tieu Can and Cau Ngang.
