Localities pay homage to war martyrs

Many localities are busy preparing for celebrations of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day on July 27. 

Since early this year, the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong has handed over 531 houses worth over VND17.5 billion, and repaired 125 houses at a total cost of VND780 million sourced from the social fund. 

Heroic Vietnamese mothers are provided with lifetime care and over 4,000 war veterans and their relatives with regular health check-ups. They all have their own medical insurance cards.

The province has invested tens of billions of VND to upgrade and expand war martyrs’ cemeteries in Dak Mil, Cu Jut and Krong No districts, build monuments dedicated to fallen soldiers in Dak Song, Dak Glong, Tuy Duc and Dak Mil district, and houses in border districts.

In the Central Highland province of Dak Lak, nearly VND5.4 billion has been used to buy gifts for over 17,000 policy beneficiaries.

All local units, agencies and organisations are actively engaged in the campaign “Remember the source when drinking water”.

Army Corps 16 offered free health check-ups, medicine and gifts to 950 members of ethnic minorities and policy beneficiaries in Ia Lop and Ia R’ve communes, Ea Sup district.

In the central province of Quang Tri, a number of martyrs’ cemeteries have been consolidated and expanded at a cost of over VND50 billion.

The provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has to date raised nearly VND100 million to build houses and buy gifts for 116 families of fallen soldiers.
