Vietnam Television on November 8 broadcast live a programme entitled “The Night of Integration” from Hanoi, HCM City and Geneva in Switzerland to mark Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

During the programme, TV viewers enjoyed seeing the happy faces of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and members of the Vietnamese negotiation delegation at a ceremony in Geneva when Vietnam became the WTO’s 150th member.

They closely followed managers and businessmen discussing issues relating to tariff reduction, investment commitments and the enhancing of enterprises’ competitive edge after joining the WTO.

Concluding the programme, Paul Tran Van Thinh, former European Commission ambassador to the WTO said, it is high time Vietnam needed to win the battle against hunger and poverty and discrimination.
