As many as 10,000 people participated in the programme held early last year and raised more than VND145 million (roughly US$9,000) for the local poor.

The annual charity programme, named after Lawrence S. Ting, former Chief Executive Official of the CT&D group and Phu My Hung joint-venture company, is aimed at raising funds for not only impoverished residents in HCM City’s District No. 7 but also potential sports talents in the city.

This year's programme will be jointly hosted by HCM City’s Athletics Federation, Sports and Physical Training Department and Phu My Hung company.
